Retail Buying Manager Own Label

Role Purpose
The Retail Buying Manager for the Own Labels will be the owner of all buying responsibilities across the Own Label brands for YOOX.
Responsibilities:
Manage the buying team, buyers, assistants, designers, product developers, back office and quality control.
Responsible for the Own label assortment.
Manage the buying budget/OTB based from a product and sales receipt perspective, align with Store merchandising sales expectations. Take overall view on the balance of the range by style, color, quantity and category.
Securing a healthy balance between markup demand and quality requirements, minimum quantities to build a successful brand, strive to improve markup over seasons.
Accountable for sell through and sold margin.
To maintain a healthy return rate, take strategic actions through the full product development process to mitigate return rate.
To Implement and maintain a structured buying process to maximize potential in best-selling products together with a healthy implementation of new products to secure long term selling.
Thorough analysis using the data available to support collection building.
Implement customer feedback process and smart tests to minimize the risk of the assortment.
Pricing architecture in categories and markets together with Merchandising.
Set a long-term collection strategy based on the current and future retail climate, seasons, drops, items?
Work on drops/uploads with instore team and merchandising to secure momentum and newness factor / relevance is maintained throughout the season.
Ensure that the cross functional teams are continually involved, i.e. Marketing, PR, Creative.
Competitor analysis on a global scale.
Keeping up to date on seasonal trends, through any medium, inspiring the team with knowledge of trends and motivating them to do similar.
Ensure you know the YOOX Own label customer and their needs, work with Customer Insight to develop your understanding of the consumer.
Present the weekly analysis to management and wider team in weekly trade.
Set and follow up on a clear and realistic long-term sustainability strategy
Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers and always strive to find new relevant suppliers.
Ensure that the business and suppliers are meeting targets related to corporate social responsibility.
Build a strong team with a focus on succession planning
Lead ad hoc cross functional/brand-wide projects
Essential Skills & Requirements:
Leadership abilities; professional with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Leadership skills and experience from managing a retail buying team is preferred.
Demonstrable experience in People Management - ability to gain trust, respect and confidence quickly and effectively
Proven track record of working in the retail buying business and understanding steps required to achieve scale and healthy long term profitable growth.
Retail buying and range planning experience required.
Industry interest, understanding and development required.
Brand building experience highly desirable.
Significant commercial experience of trading in a fast paced and reactive environment.
Pragmatic problem-solving approach
Confidence in suggesting calculated risks, sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Excellent presentation skills.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage a heavy workload.
Organizing, planning and prioritizing work.
Coordinating the work and activities of others to get the job done.
Critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Pro-active, innovative doer, able to implement ideas to constantly improve the YOOX own label business.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
